Grandmaster James Lee


Grandmaster James Lee has been teaching martial arts for over 43 years, and has studied martial arts for over 55 years. In that time he has earned:
9th Degree Black Belt Hapkido
8th Degree Black Belt Taekwondo
8th Degree Black Belt Hwarangdo
8th Degree Black Belt Haedong Kumdo

In addition to his martial arts skills, he holds the following distinctions:

  • U.S. 1988 Olympic Taekwondo Delegate
  • Founder and Chairman of Dragon Martial Arts Association
  • 1st Certified Kukkiwon Instructor in GA
  • 1st Certified International Referee in GA
  • 1st Certified Korea Taekwondo Association Referee in GA
  • U.S. Olympic Academy Certified
  • 1st Korean to be President of GA Taekwondo Association
  • 1st Class (Highest Level) Korean Body Guard Certified
  • 2nd Class Certified by Korea Rope Skipping Federation

Grandmaster Lee strongly believes in giving back to the community, and has worked with the Council on Battered Women, March of Dimes, Hi-Hope Center, Gwinnett County Children’s Shelter, Friends of Rock Hill Girls’ Home, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, Gwinnett County’s Child Abuse Center, the Korean Community Center, and many others.

In recognition of his social work in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama, Grandmaster Lee has received the following awards:
